Somehow, Ellis and Louis had managed to develop into a real couple. In spite, of working together on a daily basis at the recording studio. They'd even gotten married back in August on a cruise in Italy. It wasn't quite a selfish endeavor, Ellis' best friend and his partner along with Louis' sister and her fiance were there to cheer them on. Yes, they were an unlikely family who was hoping to have a real Thanksgiving dinner together. But as luck would have it, an unwelcomed guest dropped in.
Of course, neither Ellis nor Louis was sure who it was. Callum had changed. Actually, they weren't quite sure what to make of him, but they didn't ask why he was here. They were certain they would only bore him of their mundane life. After all, he'd spent his days traveling, hoping to find new talent to send to Ellis and Louis. Or so they guessed.
"I thought it was time to experience a real Thanksgiving meal," Callum told him he didn't think he'd ever had one.
It left Ellis shaking his head. He was certain Callum forgot his roots. After all, in spite of how he looked now, his roots were from the heartland. Still, he didn't want to dare upset his fragile boss.
"Oh, we made pumpkin pie." Louis vouched it wasn't pumpkin from a can.
"Actually, I picked it up from Village Inn," Ellis confessed with a wince. Louis only chuckled.
Of course, they weren't sure how long Callum would stay. They doubted he'd even stop in at the recording studio.
Still, Ellis called Gabby. He remembered how she'd once spoke of him as family.
"I know she'd love to see you." He hoped Callum would stay the night. After all, Thanksgiving was getting in touch with friends, family and loved ones.
