Brian & Ivy
How many times could he tell Ivy that she meant the world to him? Sure, they had their good days, fun days and even bad days back at Ivy's house in her room. It still felt like it was her room. Not their room.
Was the romance over? She liked to tell him what to do. And maybe Brian deserved it. But he was still a custodian at the University.
Her mother would mention marriage ever so often and Brian smiled at the thought of it, while Ivy would get in a huff, as if her mother would jinx it, somehow.
"We're going to have a baby," Ivy would yelp and practically throw a fit.
"Maybe, we should think about the baby," Brian told her that his parents never married. He liked the idea of having a real family.
But he wasn't so sure Ivy felt that way. Somehow, she found her own family fake. Maybe it was because her parents divorced. He knew she didn't want to talk about it. He didn't want to talk about his parents, either.
"Let's just try to be good parents," it was the least he could say. Still, he felt they were in limbo. Maybe she never felt the same way about him like he did about her.
