desire
For the first time, Jools felt lost in the world. He didn't want to say he missed his family. After all, he was old enough to leave home. Still, he found himself wincing bitter tears, thinking of how his father felt about him.
"Maybe, your mom doesn't feel that way," of course, Valentina wanted to comfort him, but he knew it was best for the two of them to focus on the bakery and taking inventory.
"It doesn't really matter." He knew his mother couldn't do anything about it. She wouldn't. That was the type of patriarch family they had. It was best to leave it alone and think of his future here. If he didn't keep busy, he might go crazy with worry.
He'd moved in with Evan. Of course, he wondered now if it were the right thing to do. At the moment, he felt Evan was the only family he had.
A part of Jools knew he had to keep his cool, although he felt downright frigid these days. This was his first time to be in a real relationship. If only he could bask in that joy instead of worrying where he'd be in February.
