summer time sadness

Was it possible to have a four day weekend in the start of summer? Diago definitely wanted to have some kind of party on the Fourth. Of course, trying to get Ste to take a break from the bakery might be a little too much.

"But..but what about Amira?" He began to chat her up. He'd find a way to get them together, even if it might only be in the friend zone. Ste definitely needed her around, since Diago believed she did make him nicer. "She'll be there. You can spend the night if you want."

Diago's eyes lit up as if it could be a magical Fourth.

Ste looked a bit alarmed. He winced as if it might all be rather painful.

"I'm a Brit, you know," Ste snapped. "We don't celebrate the Fourth."

"Oh," Daigo felt sad for him. "I just thought you'd come, if..if you knew, Amira would be there for the cookout."

"Amira?" He might as well be saying America. He was quite indifferent and his usual stoic self.

"You know, you need her and much as she needs you," Diago shrugged as if that might turn Ste's mood around.

"I don't need anything..from Amira." Ste was straight lipped about it, cutting Diago short, as if there were things to do in the kitchen at the bake shop.

"But..it's a summer holiday. We..we ..well, you're a friend and I just want you to meet my other friends." Honestly, Diago wanted to include his boss and have an extra couple of days off, too.
