the things you mean to me
Ste found himself shaking his head as Amira ate at the chocolate candy bar talking up a storm about her co-worker Jared wanting to move in with her.
"You can't. You just can't." Ste looked at her blankly. He wanted to shake some sense into her. Didn't she know how he felt about her?
"Of course, he won't." She laughed as if he must be kidding. "He just wants someone else to take care of his problems." She munched some more on the candy and told Ste that Jared was an idiot.
Ste only sighed wondering how he could make her understand.
"I..I don't want you seeing anyone...but me." He was straight lipped, thinking how totally different she was from Gabby. Gabby had never eaten this much in front of him.
Before he knew it she spit the bits of candy all over his shirt. She laughed, although, she choked a bit of what was left in her mouth. She turned from him.
"Oh, you're such a kidder." She cleared her throat. "What is wrong with you." She shook her head. "I know, I'm not your type."
"What is that supposed to mean?" He squinted as he attempted to clean his shirt.
"You know," She smiled with chocolate on her teeth. "I'm not- I'm not experienced." She looked at him brightly.
He felt bad having to listen to her.
"Don't say anymore." He jerked his tee over his head. She turned away from him as if she would not look. "I'm not trying to scare you. " He went to the back of his kitchen and found another white tee in a drawer. "I... I like you. And-"
She shook her head, no. She told him she'd never been on a date. And they were friends. Why was he saying this?
"Because." He'd decided. "If anyone was to ask me if-if I was seeing anyone, it would be you."
She looked at him blankly as if maybe she was dreaming. Ste gave her a hug. He'd wanted to for a long time. She was as cuddly as he knew she would be. It was good to be this close to her.
