welcome to my world
How come everyone thought he was too good looking for his own good?
"Seriously, that's what that old grandma told me," Liam passed this info on to Matty who was taking over Liam's job as the boy who was in charge of carts at the grocery store. "She'll pinch your cheeks too." Supposedly, this woman was the best of the best with customer service. Evidently, she'd never met a stranger she didn't like.
He could see young Matty was as indifferent as he was with the world of work. The conditions were hardly plausible. They might as well be out in the cornfields detasseling corn. It was hot out there and Matty would see soon enough what he'd be doing in the sea of cars in the parking lot, chasing grocery carts.
Some would be sticky. Some would have squeaky wheels. Some wouldn't be worth putting back in the building for use. Yes, Matty would find out soon enough.
Liam was moving up. This time cashier. He needed to get to know the basics. In spite of so many scan and go slots. He would be on his feet.
Still, he guessed it was worth it. He and Lizzy moved into their little one-bedroom apartment. It was in the basement of the apartment building he'd lived in with Cody. It felt good to have their own place. Although space was small..it was their new home.
Lizzy got on with the zoo. Hopefully, she could work through the fall and winter. At the moment she was working the frozen lemonade stand.
"Welcome to my world," Liam shrugged. "Pace yourself." He shrugged. That was about all the advice he could give him.
