At Homecoming

Rosie wasn't sure what to make of Chance. True, he was pretty.

It didn't feel right to be at a dance that she knew was meant for Sunny. But he was in Chicago.

She still didn't like the idea that he was there. He was supposed to be here at the Uni. It was useless to dwell on it.

Of course, she asked Chance a ton of questions about where he lived. After all, he was an Island boy. Still, he didn't seem like the type who would live there all his life. Yes, he was rather ordinary and evidently went out a lot, but it all felt so mindless.

She could see he hadn't found his purpose. Not that this made him bad, it was just a lack of understanding of what a boyfriend could be. Maybe, supposed to be. She shook the thought of what was she really thinking..could he be her boyfriend.

She stopped dancing the fast ones with him. She looked to the single girls in the bleachers of the decorated disco gym.

"Why don't you ask some of them, to dance?" She was straight lipped and wide-eyed as if she might be his big sister(even if he was older than her he was young at heart.)

"What?" That shocked look of his made her almost smile, but she tilted her head toward the lonely bunch, as if he did what she said, she might have a surprise for him.
