still in limbo land
"You remind me an awful lot of someone I used to date," Bom's new boss smirked. "Of course, I'm so much wiser now."
Bom could hardly breathe. She wasn't so sure she wanted this job after all, but she would be Lalah's assistant. After all, Lalah was Keanu's grandmother and if she worked here then Keanu could be at the daycare in the building.
Bom knew it was just temporary. It felt everything was temporary, at the moment. Like sharing a room with Brian and Keanu. She doubted it last long, but Brian could make the rent on time, and now she had a fulltime job.
If only she could call home and tell her parents, but the job might not last long, either. Then what?
She could tell Dylan and Lalah were together, even if they were so professional. It was easy to see that someone's grandmother missed him, too.
"I dunno why you didn't give Ivy the job?" Bom asked after she was situated in her new position as Lalaih's assistant.
"Do you think the two of us could make it a day together?" There was a certain dread in Lalaih's voice. Bom understood mothers and daughters didn't always get along.
According to Lalah she'd given Ivy every opportunity to be well educated. Why was she being such an idiot with this Jay?
"Maybe, she doesn't know what she really wants." Bom thought she needed time to figure it all out and maybe she would be back with Brian and Keanu soon. Still, she wanted to use the skills she'd always wanted to use here and hope she learned more skills on the computer.
