Chance thought he heard it correctly as he was leaving.
Lynsey said she was pregnant. It was quiet. For a moment Chance wanted to run upstairs and shake his brother. What if he passed out?
Chance took a deep breath and left. He knew they were expecting company any second. Somebody from the library was having dinner with them and he didn't want to social distance at home. Instead, he'd rather be at Rosie's.
They were making pizza and it was always fun to help with Rosie's little cousin's. It was good to stay around family than try to go someplace that wasn't open like they said they were.
"So you're going to be an uncle?" Rosie's Aunt was all smiles. She had a new baby as it was. She tended to the baby boy while Rosie helped the girls with the pizza dough and Chance chopped veg.
"Yeah," Chance couldn't help but smile brightly. Not once did he ever think his brother would ever be that close to anyone. Especially, to have a child with them. "That Lynsey is one of a kind." He told her that his soon to be sister-in-law was now a clerk at the library. Somebody had decided to retire.
"Sounds like a good job to have," Ellie said she loved the library and asked how it had been since the library re-opened.
"Um, not that busy, but big book drops," Chance said there was still quartine, so lots of book drops to get through.
Chance looked over at Rosie, wondering if she was mad at him. They'd hardly spoke since he got there. Oh, he knew she liked to hug him and kiss him and make him want more. Yes, definitely a good time not to be too close to each other.
Once they got the pizza in the oven, she came over and took his hand. He knew she wanted to drag him up to her room, but watching TV together would have to be enough. At least, they weren't wearing masks.
Very interesting story:)
