the dance of life

Brian was certain of it now after living with Ivy these last few weeks. She was mental. Oh, he knew her habits. Sure she could be all cozy and calm around the baby but then she warmed up to the nurse awful fast when she went in for her check-up.

Damn her, he thought. She was moving on and not looking back.

"I don't think she'll stick around long," he told Bom. After all, hadn't they done enough.

"She needs Keanu," Bom reminded him there were a lot of emotions to heal, and there was the Jay matter still hanging in the balance. "Once he gets here, it'll be better."

"Great," Brian didn't want to sound he was in a hough, but he hated the guy. Sure, they'd been friends once and he'd trusted the old friend, but not now. Brian had a good mind to go back to the hospital and find this Dan the nurse and tell him to stay away from Ivy if he knew what was good for him.

But no, that was a little too late, Ivy was already texting him.

"What are you doing with your life?" He finally asked her. She was a disaster in his book.

"Why do you care?" She was her angry self when she didn't get what she wanted which he had no desire to know now.

"You're somebody's mom," that had to mean something. Although, he'd grown up with a mother who probably never knew this. "Just..just stop. Stop running, thinking the next time will change everything. It won't."

She only gave him a pout that he knew nothing. But somehow, he felt a little smarter now being with Bom. Never did he want to fall so hard in love as he had with Ivy.

"Fine, I'm going to leave as soon as I can." She hugged herself hard as if she was finished with ever trying to be a sort of friend. "I know you hate me."

"And why shouldn't I?" He was serious. "You meant everything to me, but you went and cheated on me. Don't you think Jay will feel the same way..if..if you go off with this guy you just met. Didn't you get hurt already? Have you learned nothing?"

"It's not like that," she swelled a frown as if he was the idiot. Not her. "Dan lives here and has an extra bedroom. Don't you want your space?" She said she wasn't that crazy. I want to see Keanu but I don't want to live here."

Brian nodded thinking Ivy moved at warp speed with her life. Did he ever really know her?

"Fine, move out, but what are you going to do?" She didn't have a job with another baby on the way with a pandemic going on. But she was unafraid, somehow and he couldn't stop her.

  2. I wish Ivy would slow down a bit - she jumps into the deep end way too often. :/

  3. This is true about Ivy. I am not sure when she went off the deep end. I feel growing up she didn't meet her parents' expectations in her studies. And she felt she'd spent most of her life studying so she felt the need to live life. Unfortunately, her plans aren't well planned, or the ones she did have fell through. Oh, and she easily falls in love, but once she does she isn't very good at being in love. Therefore, her relationships are a bit rocky.
