I promise you we'll get there

 Chance didn't know what to make of his brother lately. Possibly, Casey was more moody than usual. At times, he thought Casey was more pregnant than Lynsey. He'd noticed his brother's baby bump.

"How is that possible?" Chance asked his girlfriend Rosie with a wince. He'd decided it was best to go to her house while company was over. More showed up than what his brother planned for. 

"Well, maybe he's..." Rosie pursed her lips to the point her cheeks puffed out. Chance only smiled at her as they were busy with her Aunt's girls practicing on playdough before the Christmas cookie cooking began. "I don't know, growing up." She finally shrugged.

Chance shook his head. It was just weird, but then when wasn't Casey just a little weird.

"I know he's not happy that Lynsey's brother is here," Chance let out a thought. "He came with his girlfriend Poppy."

"Poppy?" Rosie looked at him. "I never met anyone with that name."

"Well, she's..she's..um.." Chance didn't know how to describe her. "In college. She's..she's very college.."

Now Rosie giggle. "It's OK to say she's pretty."

Chance nodded, but really it was none of his business. "I think Jory is moving in," Chance nodded. There was another room in the basement, but it was small. At the moment Chance felt the basement was like his own apartment, but not for long. 

"When do I get to meet him and Poppy?" Rosie wanted to know.

"I don't think anytime soon," Chance shook his head. "My brother doesn't want any more visitors."

"I figured as much," Rosie said. "He's like an old man trying to keep Lynsey hostage."

Chance nodded. "You might be right, but he would definitely tell you, you were wrong. He's never wrong. As long as I have known him, he's never wrong about anything."
