"We aren't going to have a fight over this, are we?" Victoria kept her arms crossed. This matter with her sister was making her restless as of late. If Steve only knew how much trouble she'd gone to, to find out who her sister's girlfriend was.
Actually, it wasn't that hard. After scavenging and googling on the internet with no luck, all she had to do was ask her mom who her sister used to live with. At least now she did have a name.
"When have we ever had a fight?" Steve didn't exactly snap but told her there were many more important things she should be worrying about, like classes at the university and her part-time job at the drugstore. "I just think you could leave it alone."
He reminded her that this so-called roommate of her sister's had done something out of spite. "She might..I dunno.."
"What?" She couldn't think what he might say.
Steve let out a sigh and went back to chopping veg for a soup they'd have sometime during the week. Victoria hadn't moved in with him yet, but she ate most of her meals with him. He was still at the hospital, but he was actually cataloging journals now. Mostly digital, but they still needed to be checked out. Just because the medical journals were digital didn't mean there were a lot of copies available.
"You don't have to be this way," Victoria told him. After all, their romance was full-blown and she would never think of giving any of that up.
"If you insist, I'll go with you." He sounded as if he'd keep the peace as if there might be a girl fight that got out of hand.
"I just want them to get back together." Victoria winced.
"Well, the thing is, I don't think either ever said the G-word nor the L-word." Steve looked at her with a shrug. "We don't know anything. It could have been mutual hate for all we know."
Victoria knew he was right. Maybe it was best to leave it alone, Like the song said, "Time heals all wounds." Still, Victoria wondered just what kind of person was this Remi.
So great!

Steve has a point.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she should leave it alone, it doesn't really involve her.
ReplyDeleteWell you are so creative with these dialogues!

Uh, creo que se acercan a un territorio muy peligroso

ReplyDeleteHola Ellie, ya quiero leer la continuación de la historia 🙊
ReplyDeleteYes Victoria you are right ! As song said "Time heals all wounds".
ReplyDeletei think the song let it go also will fit it this scenario
ReplyDeleteParabéns pela sua criatividade em um texto maravilhoso.
ReplyDeleteI don't think time can heal everything but it can help. Cool chapter.
ReplyDeleteI almost forgot about the drama with Victoria's sister! It's cool that Victoria wants to reunite her with her old girlfriend, instead of being weirded out by it. Then again, Steve does have a point. Who knows why they really broke up? Well, you do. But you're extremely adept at keeping us guessing, and that's why we love you!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that one of your berets turned out too big and the other too small.
It reminded me of that episode of New Girl (not sure if you watched that show) where Zooey Deschanel and Lizzy Caplan start out as enemies but then become friends, and Zooey teaches Lizzy how to crochet. Only her hat is too small, and Zooey says that that's okay because it can be a hat for a baby. Anyway, you seem very experienced with the yarn and light years ahead of Lizzy. Don't be so hard on yourself -- you write all these awesome blogs, craft, and work at the library! And that's a whole lot. :)
I love the fuzzy jacket in the collage! And I noticed the Bell Jar (ugh, Bell Jar) right away. Great Easter egg!
