I feel unhappy

"How come-" Mick was acting peculiar lately. Like he had a secret he wouldn't share.

"How come what?" Jools festered a frown as if he didn't know what Mick was getting at. Thanksgiving was coming. And he didn't want to go anywhere even if Valentina asked them to come to dinner.

"You." Mick blurted with a nod. Jools looked at him standing on the other side of the bed near his own corner of things which were mainly comic books and car parts.

"What did I do now?" Jools hugged himself looking at Mick as if he might have a seizure coming on.

"Nothing." His words were short.

"I don't believe you. What's up?" Jools reminded him he had been more quiet than usual. Funny how  he understood him more without trying. After all this time. Naturally, he wondered what Evan would think of this. Was it really love? Deep inside, it was as if he needed Evan's approval. Of course, it didn't exist. Just a coldness somehow that made the days longer. And Jools knew, life was short. Especially, when he thought of co-workers in the hospital with COVID that went hand in hand with mini-strokes and coughing up blood. He winced at the thought. What the hell was he waiting for with Mick?

Mick didn't even want to watch that wonderful Chinese drama LOVE IS SWEET (they had to pay for the forty-something episodes that were no longer on PRIME). "Did you meet someone?" Jools' voice echoed.

"Me?" Mick looked a little soured. He was even lipped. "What about you? You get to meet everyone. You have-"

"You really are mad at me?" Jools came around to Mick's side. Mick nodded. He was in his black Black Sabbath tee. He'd been playing CHANGES over and over as of late. Actually, Jools had never heard of the song until he met Mick.

"How come I'm the last to know?" Mick finally looked at him, even if his bottom lip was just a little fat of envy.

"Know what?" Jools sighed wondering what did Mick know.

"You showed somebody a picture of us." Mick was always his very sincere self. Jools wasn't sure what to say, but before he could say a word. Mick kissed him on the cheek. Jools backed away and looked at Mick's sweet face so close. He guessed this was a good time to give him a proper kiss.

When his hand came around the back of the base of Mick's neck, Jools hesitated. Possibly, it was now or never. Yet when he pulled the kiss he wanted Mick to know what he meant to him. It was something true.

  14. Finally! I'm so happy that Jools and Mick made it official! Sad as it is, the insight about Jools feeling like he needed Evan's approval makes so much sense; no wonder Jools waited so long. Sometimes we're our own worst enemies!

Thanks so much for including the fabric from my daisy tee in the collage! It made me so happy to see it! :)
