The moment Izzy met Brandon was like her prayers were finally answered. He was the new guy in the deli. In fact he was quite brawny. An added plus. And that smile. It made her smile and she thought she might have lost her smile.
He was like a big brother she never had. Although, he was new it seemed he was familiar with the kitchen. He could make anything. If they needed him to make a summer salad, he could whip it up and people would buy it. If there was a bake chef who was sick and birthday cakes or wedding cakes needed to be done, he could do that too. Oh, and his fried foods were perfection.
Yes, it was like a whole new world for Izzy. He was way older than her. Almost thirty.
"Oh, I have a few good years left in me, I guess." His smile was splendid and not once did he gloat. Yes, it was like Izzy had finally found her man. He was a gorgeous soul.
Naturally, Izzy couldn't wait to tell Rylie everything about him while she was here on her visit. They went out to lunch and walked the mall for spring frocks. Of course, they didn't buy anything, but made sure they saved room for ice cream.
"Oh, he's the best," Izzy was all smiles. Of course, Rylie was as calm as she ever was. She didn't rain on her parade, but she didn't agree with Izzy either.
"Just, don't be in a hurry," Rylie finally said while licking her soft-serve cone. "You have to be careful."
"He wouldn't hurt me," Izzy winced. "We're friends. He's so good."
"Then just let him be your work husband." Rylie tossed her cone and walked on. Seriously, the girl was thin and her stamina was amazing. Izzy could hardly keep up.
"But..but what do you mean?"
"There might be some things he doesn't want you to know," Rylie looked at her as if she would know a thing or two about the opposite sex. Although, Izzy couldn't think of Rylie ever dating. Never.
"Well..he's not like that," Izzy didn't believe that at all. He was so nice. Such a hard worker.
"If he's such an amazing chef, why is he working in a grocery store?" Rylie looked at her as if Izzy needed to investigate this.
"Well..well, things are hard all over these days. Maybe..maybe he feels it's safe to work at the grocery store." Izzy explained her thoughts.
Rylie only nodded. "Don't make it a romance when the romance isn't even there. You two work together."
Izzy winced. What was so wrong about a workplace romance? After all, it was fine with her and Brick until it wasn't. But she liked Brandon. What was there not to like about Brandon.
Oh, I'm agree with Izzy! And I like her, really

Kisses ♥
Might be better to avoid romance in the workplace
ReplyDeleteI like Izzy's enthusiasm but Rylie is talking sense to her- about being careful for sure!

Hello!! I love the title... again, and the chapter is really good, thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!!
Uy el amor esta en el aire. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteRylie really seems to know her friend -- especially her impetuousness when it comes to romance! Brandon may be okay and he may not. These things usually become clearer with time. On another note, though, an expert baker -- not to mention fried food preparer -- wouldn't be a bad guy to have around at all! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about Brandon? Yes, this should be interesting.
ReplyDeletecould be complicated in work place
ReplyDeletehm I am curious if that truly is any romance all all...
ReplyDeleteI see it rather this way: they are friends from work, nothing more
In the workplace and romance ... it's not very good.
