Hold the vision, Trust the process

Melissa loved her new job. It felt like home now. Especially with Riley.

Sure, the old Victorian house did have its quirks. Sometimes, they both heard things. Like there might be a ghost in the basement that turned out to be old pipes. Of course, there was Brandon to the rescue. He knew a thing or two about bathrooms and pipes. So it was good to have Brandon and his boyfriend Declan around. Brandon could easily find a way to fix things without it costing a fortune. Sometimes, she wondered if they were overworking him.

Naturally, Riley pitched in. It wasn't until now that she realized how much Riley enjoy fixing up that old house.

So there seemed to be a dinner party every weekend of Autumn. Sometimes, Victoria and Steve would come too. And on occasion, even her parents would visit.

Melissa guessed her mom was becoming more comfortable around Riley. Suddenly, it felt as if everything was falling into place in the puzzle of her life. She felt as if she had more energy, which Riley always boosted, getting her to run on country roads or to go on a hike somewhere nearby.

They now had Damon the black cat who had come with the house. Yes, maybe he was their baby. Although, Riley felt they needed a dog to run with. As of yet, it hadn't happened. But then they hadn't been going to the animal shelter either. After all, the dog would have to be cat friendly.

"Now you have to get married," Victoria announced one Saturday when it was just the two of them.

"What are you going on about?" Melissa laughed as if her sister was asking too much.

"Oh, you know, you want to. What's stopping you?" Victoria asked.

"Well, why ruin a good thing?"

"But you won't ruin anything," Victoria said she was glad she and Steve took the plunge. She told her it was better that way to start a family too.

"A family?" Melissa winced wondering what her little sister was talking about.

"Oh, it could happen," Victoria told her. "Be prepared."

Melissa only smiled. Seriously, she was in no hurry. Although, it would be sweet to be married here in their own backyard.

  8. That's so great for Melissa and Riley! Especially the part about Melissa's mom coming around. The not-quite-haunted Victorian is such a cozy setting. I can see why Melissa would want to marry Riley in the backyard! 💟

Thanks so much for including my sunflowers! It's funny how they can signify summer or fall.😀🌻 I like the cat crop top and granny square vest too!
