Happy Friendsgiving

Alfie guessed it all started when Tony practically made a subscription for all of those old DVDs Christine had of Ting when she was a baby plus loading up every movie Christine ever owned. Oh, he was an upgrade all right. The basement was computer central now with speakers through the house and lord knows what else.

"You'd think he was genius," Alfie scowled at the notion that this little misfit was superior to him. "I mean, it's not that I'm anyone's favorite..but.."

"Let's face it, your cuteness has an expiration date," Gage told him after Alfie apologized for being such a butthead to him. Yes, it was just an accident they found each other again, but they both needed the afternoon at the Chinese Buffet. After all, no one they knew would be there.

Alfie knew he was right. He just didn't want to say it, but now Gage knew why Tony was moving in. Ting's mother thought he was a keeper and she was only saving their money. Not really charging them. Only Ting and Tony didn't know.

"Well, it looks like love found Poppy," Gage shrugged. "Or, it was his daughter who found it for him."

Alfie could see Gage was not in the mood to say much about the Poppy situation. Evidently, they'd both lost out. No runners-up. It was a done deal.

"I don't know what to tell you," Alfie shrugged.

"Geeks do win after all," Gage sighed.

"All I can say, don't have any expectations," Alfie told him. "If it happens it will happen." But he wasn't holding his breath on that.

"I bet you've got a few lined up already," Gage almost sighed.

"Yeap, Christine's working on it." He didn't really want to be a beggar. He wished she would stop, but she already knew someone she invited to Thanksgiving. "Did you want to come over?"

"Oh no," Gage said he had his cousin's dinner to go to. It seemed that his kids wanted Alec to come over.

Lindy knew now she hadn't been ready to see her brother, but she went anyway to get it over with. She knew he was just like daddy even if they'd never met. He was a real S.O.B she thought, but she said nothing. Although, it scared her how he looked at her even if there was a glass between them. Of course, he wasn't very nice to Jay either, but somehow they got through it and it was good to be back home.

Of course, Ivy had her baby that evening and they were to keep Hope for a while. A little of her felt sad for Hope although, she knew she should be happy that Hope now had a little brother. They named him after Dan's dad Angel Emilio Juarez Vasquez, but they were going to call him Angel because Ivy said he looked like one. And then she went into a coma.

But she was home now. And they were having dinner at Minnie and Josh's. Although, she didn't really know them and she heard all sorts of stories how they didn't like Jay when they met him. But somehow they were all friends with him now.

Slater and Omaha smoked turkeys. It would be enough meat to last through Thanksgiving. It felt a little like going home, but not really. There was lots of different foods and laughter. She'd managed to bring fudge and everyone told her they loved it. She felt kind of silly now since all it was melted peanut butter and store-bought icing.

Of course, Minnie teased her that she'd be the next one to have a baby. She laughed right back. They might as well have spoken in a foreign tongue. Just when she had about enough of their teasing, Jay got a call. It was from his mother.

"We want you and Lindy to come to Thanksgiving," she said.

"We?" He winced as if he had no idea who she could be talking about. He practically cracked up when he got off the phone. "It looks like your dad has moved in with my mother." He told her.

Lindy couldn't think of a thing to say. She hoped it was a good idea, but she doubted it.

  8. Who knew that Alfie and Gage would become friends? I like how they're looking at "the Poppy situation" more philosophically now. And it's funny when Gage says "geeks do win." And Lindy's dad moving in with Jay's mom -- wow! Very interesting. Lindy's visit with her brother was sad -- as was, to a much lesser extent -- her embarrassment about her fudge. She needs so much support, and I'm glad Jay's back in her life.

I love the leopard chair and the charm necklace in the collages! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ’Ž๐Ÿ’–
