"What are you going to do?" Riley asked Yuki when she and Melissa met up with Yuki at the new diner for lunch. Really, Riley didn't like the sound of Emily's old boyfriend. "Are you sure they broke up?"
"Oh, they've met a few times, but she doesn't want him at her house, she's afraid he might never leave," Yuki's smile was tense as if she didn't know what might happen.
"Have you met him?" Melissa wanted to know.
"Oh," she sighed. "Just through the livingroom window." Yuki shrugged. "Really, I don't know what's going on. She just says that she doesn't want to see him, yet she..she is." Yuki shook her head, about the matter. "I just want her to be OK. It's just we're friends. We are only going to be friends. Yet, I'm not so sure about this guy." She held on to her cup of coffee.
"I know what you're thinking," Riley remained even-lipped as she looked to Melissa.
"I think you should start dating," Melissa suggested.
"Dating?" Yuki looked at her as if she wasn't that ready to move on.
"Oh, let Emily figure out this Axton dude. You should feel free to meet someone who..who you can find your own happiness with. You're just a roommate."
Yuki sighed and looked at the both of them. Yes, they were probably right, she should find someone. Of course, Melissa had an app for that. She sent her a link.
"But, maybe she's not ready to -" Riley looked at Melissa as if she'd overstepped her bounds. She put her hand on Melissa's wrist. "Have you ever tried this?"
"No." Melissa looked at her blankly. "But I know a lot of people who do. It's not like it'll be weird."
"Well, just..just be careful." Riley looked at Yuki. It wasn't like the two of them knew of anyone Yuki could meet.
"There's that martial arts club," Melissa remembered with a smile.
"Oh, don't you dare," Riley's smile was open. "I don't think so."
"Oh, but she could throw an axe," Melissa practically giggled.
"Who are you talking about?" Now Yuki was curious.
"Oh, she was at our library not long ago, showing off her skills. She's a real history buff, too. I think she works at the University." Melissa told her. "Her name is Zelli."
"I see." Yuki went back to installing the app. Maybe it was time for her to spread her wings.
Myabe spreading your wings is not a bad idea.

ReplyDeleteRiley, Yuki, Melissa - discussing the old boyfriend of Emily (Yuki's roomate).
ReplyDeleteDating and roomates seem to be never ending and resourceful topics. That's life.
date apps are good options for new relationships;) I met my hubby on tinder:D
ReplyDeleteOh very interesting interactions
ReplyDeleteOoh, I almost forgot about the stalker situation. So creepy! I agree with Riley and Melissa that Yuki should see who's out there dating-wise instead of focusing on Emily and her issues. Zelli the history buff sounds promising! πππππ
