"I don't know why they can't get along," Koda said to Harry as he was unwrapping his Wagu burger. They didn't fish all that long. It was boring and besides they wanted to get to Arby's and try that burger they missed out on last summer.
Harry looked the toppings over on the burger. He said it looked fresh, but he wished he'd asked for it dry since he was a mustard burger kind of guy. He fussed with it a little. Koda knew he thought it was too wet, but once they started eating, they ate like they might both be kings.
"It's just.. it's very hard for Maisy to warm up to people," Harry shrugged as he bit into a fry. "I'm surprised she's even with me. It wasn't like it happened overnight, you know."
Koda nodded but didn't want to tell Harry everything about how he met Vanna. "Yeah, I always figured Vanna was too good for me, but you know I don't think that much about it anymore." He sipped his soda.
"Maybe, they'll get used to each other," Harry nodded. "What can we do?"
"What can we do?" Koda laughed.
"Let's go to Five Below," Harry shook with laughter.
"Seriously?" Koda knew Vanna would be furious. So they finished up and took a walk over to the strip mall. Maybe it was good to take a walk after that burger.
Of course, they looked at the guy stuff first in electronics, but they knew better than to buy anything. Finally, they found what was left of the Little Mermaid tees.
"They still have Vanna's size," Koda picked up the original Little Mermaid logo shirt that was in white. There was the new Little Mermaid stuff too.
"She's been after me to take her to see it. I just haven't done it yet," Harry said as he picked up the black tee. He held on to it as if it might not be enough.
They looked at the toys but went on to the exercise stuff and came across the bike shorts that had a pocket for the cell phone.
"Well, we both need these," Koda said right away.
"You betcha," Harry nodded. They settled on the black ones even if Koda thought Vanna might like the tye-dye ones.
"Wish they had tees for us," Koda looked around but wasn't that impressed.
"Mario Brothers!" Harry pointed to the display.
"Yes!"
They got out of there spending a little over twenty bucks each.

$20 works

I hope you have an amazing week ♥
Aw, Koda and Harry are having such fun! It's so sweet that Koda got Vanna a Little Mermaid tee at Five Below. I made my first post-pandemic trip to the movies to see the live action version, and it was wonderful! The Little Mermaid has always been one of my favorite movies; it's such a compelling and moving story of love and sacrifice. Anyway, it was interesting to learn that Maisy may be just as prickly as Vanna in the making friends department. Perhaps they're just what the other needs!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for including my rainbow fabric in the collage! I especially love how it looks against the fries! 🍟🌈
