Need no grinch types, no Ebenerzer's

 With so much to do and so little time, Boone wasn't sure he could pull off Christmas and a wedding. At least his mom said he could bake the Wedding cake in her kitchen.

But there was Christmas shopping to do, and it looked like it was slim pickings. 

"You didn't really have to do this," Boone said, but once he got the call from Lily about the false alarm of the pregnancy, it led to "Of course I want to go shopping with you." It was as if they never skipped a beat. Perhaps they were on the same page after all. He hoped all was well. Maybe they would make better choices this new year. 

She talked to him a lot in the car. It felt like they weren't going anywhere fast in this traffic.

"You know, you're my best friend," Lily said and Boone nodded. He told her she was his best friend. 

"Although, I know you think you are a close second to Phil, but..but just some things I need to talk to him about."

"Is it me?" She looked at him brightly and Boone cracked up.

Still, he wasn't sure how they'd manage Christmas and a wedding. Was his mother insane?

"Now don't go being upset with Koda," Slater looked at Vanna as if was time she thought of the future in way that might help her family. "You know, you're like a little sister I never had."

Yes, she was like family, and he'd put in a good word for her. as well as his wife Misty. There was an opening in the office at the grocery store. 

"You're not against fulltime, are you?" He wanted to know. 

She was persistent with that little frown of hers as she hugged herself there at the cashier counter. 

"You won't be on your feet all day," did he have to remind her they needed better insurance with a baby on the way.

She finally gave him a nod and burst into a squeal. She came around and gave him a hug. Of course, in the next minute, she was soaking his shirt with tears.

"When do I start?" She asked.

"I think they need you the day after Christmas," Slater asked if she was available and she gave him a nod. 

"Well, that was nice of you," KC gritted his most polite grin when Ruby gave him the interesting tam that she'd made herself. Of course, he had to sport it like it was the latest trend.

 It looked like they were snowed in. It was dry to the bone in Phoenix but Denver was where the storm reeked havoc and KC couldn't be home for the holidays. He guessed he was stuck with Ruby.

He just didn't know how she loved to knit, crochet, and even sew. It felt as if she owned him now. Everything she made him try on. This wasn't exactly what he signed up for when he started seeing the redhead. 

Of course, it gave Harley a giggle and when she facetimed him now, Brick was always there. It wasn't easy getting used to, but he knew if they wanted to remain friends it was the right thing to do.

"Didn't you write me a tune or anything?" Even now Ruby was multi-tasking while they were back at the dorm. She'd made a homemade hot chocolate mix and she had everything one needed to make a dorm room so cozy. They might have been in the Woodlands for the holidays.

Honestly, he'd forgotten all about giving. He could never remember going Christmas shopping. His mom always put his name on something to give to Junie back home. He faintly remembered how to fold a bird and it wasn't exactly a work of art, but Ruby loved it anyway.
