"It'll be good and you know it."
Enough said, but Junie might have been talking more about herself than about Amy who was somehow not feeling the Thanksgiving vibe either. It seemed her Boy was having to spend far too much time with Rose at the music place lately.
"Oh, you don't know anything," Amy slammed her locker shut, but the crowd was gone in the school hallway and no one was here to witness her angst about Eli seeing Rose.
"Look, you two have been married since the moment he met you," Junie told her she knew things. She could tell from afar.
Amy rolled her eyes at that. She talked about how it wasn't even going to be a Thanksgiving at Em and Yuki's. They were going out of town.
"Out of town?" Junie knew she was over acting with her face of disgust. "Em never leaves home." This much she knew. Amy's dearest so-called aunt always stayed home with her baby.
"Well, it's just us," Amy frowned as if she guessed her parents might have a blowout over the turkey and Amy would be left all by her lonesome and never see that baby brother of hers Drew.
"It'll be fine, and Eli will be there."
Junie shrugged as she went on to tell her it was going to be a busy day for her down at the homeless shelter.
"I wonder how many selfies you'll take with Darry?"
Amy gave her a snide look that Junie was only doing this to show what a caring person she was on social media.
"I'm not."
Junie snapped with a swollen frown. She hugged her books as if she didn't want to be Amy's friend anymore, but as she turned she stumped her toe and Amy caught her in time. The pain shot up her foot. She could barely move.
She cringed in tears. This was no way she wanted to start her Thanksgiving holiday, but Amy helped her get to the entrance of the high school. There Junie texted her brother. No way could she walk home.
Oh no. A bit of drama. I'm looking forward to seeing where the stories go with Thanksgiving...
