I guess that's what seasons will bring

 "She has Covid."

KC's words made Boone flinch as he handed over the coffee.

Actually, he was the only one manning the bakery after the blizzard's aftermath. Thankfully, no one had come in except KC, and it was for a couple of muffins.

March had laid a whammy of a snow storm. The snow was thick and wet. Perfect for snowballs, but the wind raged on in the early morning and most of yesterday with snow and ice. It was barely above freezing now while a couple days ago it felt almost like summer.

"Well, it's going around," Boone shrugged about the matter. He said he hoped Millie felt better.

"I wasn't sure what it was," KC admitted the last thing he expected was for her just to sleep in his bed. "I mean, I think we have things figured out, but she's so exhausted these days."

"Maddie's worried about her too, but now that I know this, well, I'm sure Maddie will be glad to know."

"I hope she got her shot."

KC said he did.

"Oh, yeah, but she could still get it," Boone mentioned people came in coughing all the time.

"I keep thinking the spring I caught mono," KC told Boone he hadn't even kissed anyone. "I had to be in close contact with this dude who was my lab partner." He rolled his eyes at the thought how the hunky football player had coughed all over him. "I wouldn't want to go through that again." He said he kept missing COVID. "But I don't know if I I'll be so lucky this time, since Millie moved in."

"Doesn't sound the best way to start something new," Boone smiled. He went to get some plastic containers of broccoli cheese soup. "Maybe this will help."

About then the door jangled and a couple of customers stopped by.

"Thanks," KC appreciated the freebies.

"You take care of yourself and Millie too," Boone waved goodbye and went to take the customer's order.

  3. Hello!
Incredibly, I've never had Covid! But I'm not free from catching it and that's a fear I have, because I have no defenses, my immune system is deficient, if I have Covid I may well end up in the hospital and get very sick, but I'm vaccinated! What a shame that people have to work with Covid, they can put others at risk, I hope everyone protects themselves! Hugs and have a happy weekend!

  7. I could relate with this concern of being sick because people around don’t care are mask up when sneezing. This is sad actually because it causes disease to others who could have been spared possibly
Well said my dear friend Ellie 👍😊♥️

  10. We'll never be free from Covid, will we? As healthy 50-somethings living in the UK we are no longer eligible for the jab, I tested positive for it three years ago but had no symptoms. Let's hope Millie gets through it as quickly and painlessly as me! xxx

  12. Infectious mononucleosis is really bad. COVID, on the other hand, is usually less serious. Unfortunately, not always.

  13. A Covid, infelizmente, veio pra ficar.
Mas muitas doenças poderiam ser evitadas se as pessoas doentes usassem máscaras e até por respeito, jamais espirrar ou tossir na cara de outra pessoa.
    Beijos nas bochechas! 😘
