Tyra wasn't sure she wanted to spend time with Millie at her place, but felt she had to make up for not spending Easter with her. It felt strange seeing her with KC. After all, KC was Tyra's first love. Although he would never know it. Maybe it was just as well that he never really knew her anyway. But here she was all alone with her sweet baby sister, and she had no idea what they could talk about.
Of course, Millie talked about the fire at the bowling alley.
"I can't believe that happened."
It was on the news. One lit cigarette gone bad in a place that was a NO SMOKING campus. Next thing Tyra knew a firefighter was hauling her out there. Needless to say, Tyra felt she was in a movie, and he was definitely male lead material. Yeah, that Carson was sexy all right. But damn, all those kids.
The date was a complete fail, but then Millie knew that already as she jumped to conclusions.
"You're a lesbian."
Millie reminded her. Sometimes, it was not good to be labeled. It wasn't like she would come out and say "Oh..I'd do him in a heartbeat." It was best to just be quiet and tell her sister she was right.
Still, Carson was a gentleman. And she was still tickled pink that he'd asked her to that family event. If nothing else, she could make that soon-to-be ex jealous, and she liked the idea. But all those kids. Yeah, that did put her off.
Meanwhile, she did meet someone at the gathering. She doubted they'd ever meet up, but of course, it wouldn't be for sex, it would be for a bit of weed. God, she missed rolling a joint. She felt he knew where to get the expensive stuff, and he would share. Cause she was without a job at the moment.
Her phone dinged just then. She wanted to smile. It was him. Yes, they'd finally made contact.
Funny how sometimes it is easier to just stay quiet and let people assume what they do. I understand why she didn't correct her sister. Some people don't realize that not everyone is happy in love. Some dates are bad. It's not a matter of perspective. Some people are just not meant for one another.
ReplyDeleteIts what we all want
ReplyDeleteNice
ReplyDeleteNow what happens, as we wait and wonder.
ReplyDeleteUy es genial cuando conectas con alguien. Es un buen fragmento. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteEla estava ansiosa e finalmente o telefone tocou!
ReplyDeleteBoas inpirações e boa sexta para você!
Beijos nas bochechas! :-)
How exciting, I can't wait to hear how the date goes! Although she'd right to be wary, it would be a hell of a responsibility getting involved with someone with children, if they are a decent person their kids are - quite rightly - always going to come first. xxx
ReplyDeleteLooks like someone is going to make her really happy...and go and roll a joint. It's not a big deal.
