I'll have faith in all you do

Boone didn't know how they were going to do it, but they needed to keep this from Dad. Only, he couldn't keep it from the mother who raised him.

He looked at the bottle of red wine on the kitchen counter.

"Do we even have anything to open it with?" Maddie said he needed a wine cork thingie.

"A wine cork thingie?" Boone scowled back. Alfie got it for him at the drugstore. He hadn't mentioned he'd need such a thing.

"You know, it's this thing you screw into the cork." She shrugged, motioning how it worked, which left a lot to the imagination, thought Boone.

"How do you know so much about wine?" He then asked. Wine had never came up before.

"Oh, my Aunt. She likes wine," Maddie licked her bottom lip.

"So she let you drink, under age?" Boone looked at her as if he needed to call the police about this.

"Not all the time," Maddie winced as she hugged herself. "I know how to handle my wine." She assured him.

"Oh, you are full of surprises."

Boone grinned. She held a laugh under her breath. She went to look through all the kitchen drawers and brought something back that looked a little dangerous.

"I was wondering what that thing was," he said as he watched her go to work. They weren't exactly of age drinkers even if Boone was twenty-one. It wasn't something he did. He noticed her struggling. "You know, this is for my mothers, not us."

"I know," but she said they needed to let the wine breathe.

"Oh really?"

She brought out the cheese board, thinly cut meats, and fruit. Then she got out the crackers and even a bowl of popcorn.

Soon his mother, the one he would always call Mom arrived. Naturally, she thought seeing wine was odd.

"Well, I want you to meet Tammy," Boone sighed.

"Tammy?" His mother knew. She'd known since Tammy came into his life. "But-"

"I'm leaving dad out of this for right now," Boone didn't want to start a war of some kind. "She wants to find her own place, and if anybody can help her, it's you. You know the real estate market from here to Lincoln."

He could tell she was hesitant.

"Besides, I told her all about you. She does want to meet you. And I know you can help her. She just wants to be close to us. And you know, she's going to be a grandmother soon."

Boone hoped his mother Leone would help. He could always count on her.

  9. This is such an engaging story! I love the mix of humor and tension between Boone and Maddie, and the way Boone tries to handle everything with his mom is really relatable. It feels like there’s so much more to uncover, and I’m curious about how Tammy will fit into the picture. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

  11. Hello,
Here in Portugal young people can start drinking at 18!!! I think it's too early! Having a concerned and supportive mother is very good, I can't imagine being without my mother!
    Have a great week. Hugs
