All I know at the end of the day

"Darry's right, you need to make your own happiness."

Maddie couldn't help but give Junie the eye, but they were enjoying an ice cream cone at the moment. Maddie took her to the new ice cream after her shift was over at the library.

"Oh, all right," Junie turned away as if she didn't want to talk about it, as they ate their treat in the shop since it was so warm out. She talked about all the things she'd like to do to her room. Like painting, new shelves, even new curtains. "But I don't have any money."

"Maybe you could DIY something," Maddie mentioned that an old sheet could give new life to a window.

"But, I dunno where the sewing machine is, and Mom would be mad."

Junnie wiggled her lips as if she were in trouble.

"I know where it is," Maddie said she'd moved it upstairs. She'd used it and left it in the closet in her room when she moved. "I can teach you."

"Really?"

This brightened up Junie's spirits as she licked her cone and smiled.

"Maybe a pillow or pajama pants are where we should start," Maddie mentioned. She knew where a box of old sheets was in the laundry room.

"Pajama pants! Oh, I want to make matching pajama pants for me and Darry."

Maddie let out a breath that maybe she'd spoken too soon. "We'll start with a pillow and see how that goes. If that goes good..and I think you should make several pillows for starters, we'll make pajama shorts."

"I didn't think you could sew." Junie winced.

"It takes a lot of trial and error, but it's good for you. You just have to be patient."

"Patient?"

She scrunched her frown. "You know, I have driver's ed. I asked Darry to teach me."

Maddie shook her head, no. "Bad idea. I'll teach you."

Junie grimaced. "But you drive like an old grandma turtle."

Maddie shrugged. She had a feeling she'd be the one doing it. She remembered how frightened her uncle was to be in the car with her, and her Aunt was just too nervous and scared. It would be best if Junie just got used to the car.

"We'll start Monday morning in the big church parking lot." That was when it was empty.

  2. I think doing some DIY projects is a great idea for people to relax! I don't know how to sew, but I know how to cut with scissors, ha ha ha! And doing these activities with friends is guaranteed fun! As for the car, I think it's a good idea for her to practice a little before driving on the roads!
    Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs

  4. I don't know much about sewing
As for driving lessons, I took them at a driving school, I think it's easier than with someone from my family.

  11. Acho legal demais quem sabe costurar! As vezes não ter dinheiro nos dar criatividade, usar o que temos, transformar o que já temos em algo novo...
    Beijos nas bochechas! :-)
