Everybody needs someone around

 Here went Junie again as they needed to be at the pool, not the library. However, the Children's Library Program was in full swing, and Darry was getting extra hours. The summer was looking horrible, and Junie kept bringing it up.

"We'll never have time together," she said in a pout.

"Well, I guess you'll have to make your own happiness, somehow." 

Darry pointed out that the time he did have off would be spent looking at Universities. His grandmother wanted him to live with her and attend a prestigious university there that was renowned for its engineering programs. 

This left Junie in a stomp.

"Maybe you could babysit. You know, take a youngster or two to the pool."

"Why would I do that?" She snarled back.

"For that fashionista pride of yours," Darry didn't want to think it was all coming to an end, but he would be having to take certain steps to have a better future. Maybe he'd stay here, but maybe he wouldn't.

"I'm already volunteering here," Junie would look at him as she hugged herself and furrowed a frown.

"I noticed," Darry nodded. "Aren't you going to be busy with driver's ed soon?"

"I guess." Although he knew she wasn't that crazy about learning to drive. She'd rather he do all the driving, which in his eyes might have been the wise thing to do. No way was he going to teach her, but in the next breath, she thought it was a great idea if he gave her driving lessons.
