choosing not to argue with people is self care

"The only thing I knew to do was to call Rafe," Gabby was still upset about all this with Ruby and the high blood pressure. Luckily, he got there in about twenty minutes and took her to the ER. At least she was home now and found Oliver making dinner.

Gabby had her own battle going on with Carrie and the ice cream. At least they solved that at the grocery store. Plus, she found a Chelsea Barbie doll, so that quieted her down while they were waiting for Rafe.

"It just about gave me a heart attack," Gabby fretted. It could have been from all the heat of the day. It was clouding up and storms were on the way, but they got dinner ready before the power went off later.

"I don't know if I could even handle being pregnant," Gabby finally confessed in the dark. Of course, all three of them were in bed during the blackout.

"Carrie is more than enough," Oliver agreed. "But let's not say NO to the idea just yet. You know, we just have to be happy with whatever comes."

Gabby guessed that was a positive outlook. Still, she thought Rubby was doing so well. She was the life of the party. She never looked tired. Gabby was happy to see Ruby glow up with being pregnant, but then when she showed her how her feet and ankles looked in the slides that were actually Rafe's shoes, Gabby worried even then.

"I wonder if Rafe even noticed?" Gabby said out of the blue.

"Oh, he probably did, but was afraid to say anything," Oliver told her.

"Why would he not?"

"Because," Oliver mentioned that Gabby and Ruby were a lot alike. They were never wrong about anything.

Gabby was quiet then.

They could both hear Carrie's little snore as she was wedged between them.

"By the way, don't get her any more dolls."

"Well, you know how she gets."

Gabby frowned in the dark. She didn't like seeing Carrie upset.

"She has enough. And no ice cream, either." Oliver told her she was giving in to Carrie, too much.

Gabby sighed. She was beginning to think he was taking this teaching thing too far. Did he have to be a teacher at home, too?

  4. Arguing just causes more issues and it really doesn't solve anything.

  5. Hi,
I think the title sums up the whole story very well. Sometimes it's better to keep quiet, it's self-care to avoid unnecessary discussions. I wouldn't want someone playing teacher at home either!
I wish you a happy weekend! Hugs

  7. I completely agree with this title
I enjoyed the episode dear Ellie because the environment you created seemed so real and happening everywhere most of the time
But I think if you love your people it’s hard to stop saying something that can make things better for them.though it’s my personal opinion
