Just call me Angel in the morning

Tyra couldn't remember the last time she went to a wedding. Maybe never. Maybe it was just in her dreams back when she was a girl and played Barbies with her sister. But this one was real. And she ended up being the DJ for the dance.

Of course, Millie helped with the playlist, and they even did an acoustic set while people ate.  It was a sweet time.  She had Millie harmonize on the couple of songs they chose. Actually, it was her mother who chose the songs they would sing because she was afraid they wouldn't find happy songs to sing. In the end, they did get applause, and maybe that was what they really needed.

Oh, and Tyra caught the bouquet. True, she made a fuss in the beginning to get in line with the others in their floral and ruffled outfits. Honestly, she wasn't expecting it. "Well, I don't know what to do with this," she said in a quiet voice as she looked it over.

"Well, give it to me," Millie's eyes lit.

"No, I caught it."

Tyra held on to it as if it must mean something. Millie was in a huff. Naturally, Naoki grinned when he found her while she looked at him like a doe in the headlights.

"I wonder how long one of these will last?" He asked.

She laughed at him. Didn't he know the flowers weren't real? Even so, she put it on the shelf in the living room and still found herself thinking about the moment she caught it. Now it felt as if it needed to be cherished. But she knew she wasn't ready for marriage yet.

They were still getting to know each other. And Naoiki loved doing all the cooking. She'd made a fuss early on that she liked to cook, too. Actually, it was baking cookies and brownies, but her omelettes were made with love, too. Still, she knew he liked his better.

Of course, he was the kind who was always vacuuming, and laundry was a daily ritual. And she didn't mind that because she was tired from her day at work.

She'd gotten used to how he cooked on weekends, so they didn't really have to cook during the week. This was something she never knew at home. Yes, she was getting comfortable with Naoiki. And maybe they would get married someday. But it wouldn't be this year.

  3. Hello
    I've been to many weddings!
It's always a rush among the single women to grab the bride's bouquet, lol!
I think it's just a tradition and doesn't mean anything to whoever catches it! But people get all emotional about it anyway. And she has such a wonderful man at home, who cleans, does the laundry, cooks... what more could she want? To get married!
Thank you, Ellie, for all your support! Have a lovely week!

  6. The main thing is that things are going well between the two and they are happy, they can get married later, too.
