I could be wrong now, but I don't think so

Gabby knew she wasn't any help at all on Halloween night, but she did manage to hand out candy while Oliver and Carrie in her witch costume, went out to trick or treat. Of course, living in the apartments might not have been ideal for trick or treating, but a few came by since she left their door open and planted herself in a dining chair. Most of the evening she texted Ruby, off and on. However, Ruby did have baby duties so it was a bit sporadic, but they were planning a Friendsgiving. At least the trick or treating was over by seven.

"Look what I got!" Carrie said as soon as she saw Gabby. She could imagine too many candy bars that were meant for adults.

Carrie held it up with both hands. "A potato!" She was proud of it. Evidently, not everyone got one. They asked if she wanted candy or a potato, and she said potato, or so Oliver explained. She did wonder if he'd coaxed her into saying that.

"I see, do you want me to put it in the microwave for you?" Gabby asked as they got inside to settle and her huge amount of candy in her Minnie Mouse bag from Dollar Tree.

"No, I want to keep it." Carrie shrugged.

"Where?"

"Maybe, under my pillow!" She giggled.

"No, you wouldn't." Gabby tickled her, and Carrie said Gabby could have it if only she made her tots.

"I see." She took the potato then and got out the tater-tots from the freezer in the fridge.

Carrie went to her room to get on her pajamas while Oliver was still inspecting all the candy.

Gabby asked where they all went, and Oliver told her around the neighborhood.

"Who gave out the potatoes?" Gabby couldn't believe Carrie would want a potato.

"My Dad." Oliver shrugged. Gabby shook her head. That Dad of Oliver's was full of surprises.

Gabby popped the tots in the air fryer, and she made them both a cup of herbal tea. Maple and Ginger was their favorite these days. It was calm these days. No drama. She wanted the best for both of them, and hopefully, Oliver was finding the right antidepressant.

  1. Hola,
