How did this happen?

Ellie was still in shock. Kyle and Cory hit it off. Why was she even there sitting between them with the popcorn on her sofa in front of the TV? She was sure they would have had more fun without her.

"I don't know if I can take anymore of this," Ellie slipped out to go the restroom but went to her sister's room instead who was under lock and key with Geo. She knew she was interrupting, but still she had to talk to someone.

"What?" Her sister was short with her. "What have I done? Were we noisy?"

"No, no." Ellie shook her head, no that she was oblivious to what they might be up too. Really, she didn't want to think about that. "Its Kyle."

"And?"

"And, Cory is here too, and Kyle might have a man crush on Cory, or maybe its the other way around." There, that was it in a nutshell.

"So, aren't you glad they can get along?" Lisa looked at her as if she was the one who needed to chill. "You have to make up your mind, Ellie. Choose one of them."

"Choose?" Ellie shook her head, no. This was not what this was about. Choosing? "I don't even know why Cory is here?"

"Duh, he likes you."

"I don't know for sure." Ellie didn't really believe that. That would be like someone calling to tell her she'd won a million dollars. Just couldn't be possible.

"OK, you stick it out with two boys who like you or, choose, or just go to bed and forget them." Lisa was final and slammed her door in Ellie's face.

Maybe she'd just go to the restroom and never come out.
