July list

My July list

1. went to Texas by bus. The worst trip ever, although, I guess it could have been worse.

2. my great aunt's farm is a wilderness in its self. There is a old barn, a garden with rattlesnakes. It was cool walking around it (carefully) and looking at some really old stuff. Some walks I took alone, but my favorite walks were with Lonnie because he knew where creeks, ponds and other interesting places were.

3. he showed me around a ghost town, but there was an old feed store with a pool table that was really in good condition so we played pool. Of course, he won.

4. went to a rodeo. It wasn't huge, but the bulls were and the bull and bronco riding was the best. Lonnie wants to go to bull riding school, but his grandma won't let him. Also barrel racing is amazing. I would love to try it, but I think you have to have lots of practice and know your horse like a best friend to be competitive at the sport.

5. went to a dance after the rodeo with my half-brother Ben and Lonnie. I had no idea Lonnie was such a ladies man. All this time I thought he was lonely and kind of felt sad for him to be all the way out in the middle of nowhere, but I bet he danced the two step with every girl there, even me. And I found out the girl he fancies the most is much bigger than he is. Somehow, I like him more now. Well, just as a friend.

6. I meet Ben's girlfriend. She runs an animal rescue center for mainly horses, but she'll take in most anything to get it back in good health so it can be adopted. And she's Mexican. Possibly, that's why Aunt Maggie doesn't know about Maria.

7. Lonnie's grandmother made enchiladas and homemade flour tortillas. I ate dinner with them one night. She's so sweet. She also helps run a thrift shop where on Saturdays. You can fill up a brown bag with whatever you can get into it, and it'll only cost you a buck.

8. I crocheted, of course. Made Eric a blue bear. Then worked on some blocks to make him a throw, later.
