keeping it clean

Cory was busy clearing the snow and ice on his Mom's driveway. Finally, the sun had came out and things were thawing out. He smiled to himself then. Of course, it wasn't quite like that last night when he and Roger went sledding.

Of course, Cory wasn't to thrilled with the idea of sledding. "Are you out of your mind," It was freezing cold then. Not subzero temps, yet still ice under the snow. But packages had been opened. Dinner done and over with. And really, it was possibly the best idea ever.

Not anyone in sight. They had the hill behind the school all to themselves so they could kiss all they wanted. Which was unlike at the concert. Cory made sure not to kiss Roger in front of Eric. Although, there were moments he wanted to, just because. Did he need a reason? But they'd gone to the concert, practically popsicles. Thankfully, his car didn't get towed away like some others who had parked in the Burger King parking lot. They'd parked on the street. Naturally, took their time getting there and still they were early. How he wished they'd just stayed in the car, but it was so cold. Thankfully, last night was bearable.

They'd played around in the snow. It had been a laugh and then the fun of going up and down that hill together. Only more kissing started to happen than sledding. He so didn't want the moment to end, and as he dreamed about it now while clearing the driveway, Cory wondered why he hadn't stayed over at Roger's.

He didn't know how his Mom would take it, if she found out. There were thoughts of her passing out or going into a seizure if she found them together. He didn't want to make her anymore stressed than she was with her job. She kept saying she might lose her job down at the post office. All these worries and then something like this, his romance with Roger just might send her around the bend.

He'd overheard her talking to a friend over the phone how she'd been so mad at her boss that she'd made her cry and soon after that...her boss was in rehab. She didn't even know the woman was on drugs. Now she was in charge, and she was just a clerk.

Cory could only hope this was a sign for her to have a better year instead of a the worst year ever that she predicted. He'd always thought it had been easy all this time, just the two of them, but now with Roger and everything starting to come clear to him...what did he want to do? Join the Diversity club at school? He knew it was best to have all the support you could find with an alternative lifestyle, but still so much to face at once. He wasn't sure he was ready for that.

As Cory scraped the snow away, he knew it would have to be something he and Roger would have to do together. Yet the fact remained, he liked sneaking around. Really, he didn't want to be found out just yet. Because if they were would it be near as much fun as it had been with Roger?

  2. About the last chapter: Eric has a funny way of writing. And the purse, is that one of your presents too? It's cool!
I hope things will go better next year for Cory's mum.
And Cory and Roger... They don't have to come out yet if they don't want to. I think for now they should just take things easy...

  5. Aw, I like Cory. If Roger makes him happy, his mother should support him... but of course, life is not that simple.
I love that both your story and Cait's seem so real <3

(and thanks for your comments, clearing it up for me about the characters ^^)

    Happy New Year!
