There were rows of dresses to pick from at the thrift store. Eric just didn't know Olivia's color as they walked down the isle of mix and match stuff. At least the dresses were in arranged colors making it rather a rainbow to choose from.
"I love the movie Pretty in Pink," Olivia told him with her hands behind her back as if she promised herself not to touch.
"Really?" He never took her for Molly Ringwald.
"Except, that dress was ghastly that she made, and she chose the wrong guy, you know."
Eric nodded, wondering where this was going.
"She would have had more fun with Duckie anyday than that poor little rich kid, Andrew what's his face." She shrugged.
"You really didn't like him, did you?" Eric smiled thinking how seriously she'd taken the old movie.
"No, not at all. And how could John Hughes take a cue from a teenager like Molly Ringwald to end that movie the way she wanted. Was she in love with that Andrew guy in real life or what?"
"Well, Duckie is on 2 and Half Men now." Eric reminded her.
"I know. Jon Cryer is such a great actor, and he's stuck in the same old scene every week." Olivia nodded.
"So what are you telling me? John Cryer is your idea guy?" Eric smirked.
"No, its just what happened to Duckie, you know. Was he ever really happy?" Olivia looked at him seriously.
"Write John Hughes." Eric suggested. They stopped in front of the pink dresses then.
She touched many of them at first. Then she came across a rose pink one with a huge bow.
"Do you like that one?" Eric saw her put her cheek against the dress.
"Just the bow, actually."
He stopped asking questions after that and just watched as she held a dress up and examined how it was made on the inside. He'd never seen quite an artist at work before. It was mesmerizing.
Hi there-It sounds like they're having a good bonding time!
