more than you know

The honeymoon was over. Amanda had a slight sad feeling, but it wasn't about that. She washed the dishes as she looked out at the snow through the frosty window in the kitchen.

Maybe she missed Christmas with her brothers. Well, it hadn't been the same in a long time so really it was no big deal that she'd missed it.

She'd missed it with Rosie though, but she was at the house now and Elliot was reading to her. She tried not to bother them, but it was nice to notice how he wanted her around. He was good with her. Kyle couldn't deny that.

He was off seeing Amber who he swore wasn't his girlfriend. Anyway, she was sure this was like a little vacation for him, yet he'd called to tell her he'd pick Rosie up tonight. She wanted to change this, but she couldn't. She had to wait and see how this panned out when the baby came.

She didn't want to think how different that might be. Especially, with Eric around. How was this going to work>

Well, she'd decided this was enough. All of it. No more getting involved with anyone, ever again. She was married. Which made her happy and yet she still felt she'd let so many down. Even Kyle now. How could she have done this to him?

She knew she had to stop thinking that way, and yet it still haunted her. Always would, she guessed. But she was getting  used to this. This life. She hoped.

Just then Kyle pulled into the driveway. Amber was with him.

She made hot tea. It would be good to have them all sit around and talk. Really, she wanted to know Amber because she had a feeling she might be around even if she was just Kyle's friend.
