The Horny Hat

It snowed again. Ravi thought this winter would never let up. No word from Liz. He was getting worried. He hated the silent treatment. He needed to know what was going on with her, but he knew if he called, she wouldn't pick up. He hated that about her.

When he got home from class he noticed Olivia was shoveling the driveway.

"What are you doing out here?" He winced as the snow was falling softly still, but so fast and white. "You need to be resting."

"But the postman needs a clear path to the mailbox." She told him as she shoveled on.

"Are you expecting something?" He looked at her that maybe the postman didn't need to come to the mailbox, anyway.

"No." She glared back. He took the shovel from her.

"Then go inside and make us some hot chocolate." The driveway was almost done. He would finish up.

At least, he got her to make hot chocolate, and he was ready for it when he was done.

"Good." Ravi was glad to see the hot chocolate. He didn't know her secret, but it was divine. "I take it you're better."

"I dunno. Yeah. No." She squinted as she watched him sip the hot drink. "I just can't enjoy all this time off."

"Are you sure?" He saw she'd been cutting up an old sweater. There was evidence she'd made something. "What is that?" He pointed to the gray thing on the couch.

"Oh, its something for Roger." She sighed.

"Are those horns?" Ravi teased.

"No, I got inspired from Where the wild things are." Olivia told him.

"They look like horns to me." Ravi grinned.

"Care to try on Roger's horny hat then?" Olivia smirked.

"I'm not sure it would do much for me." Ravi couldn't help but smile.

"Oh, you just never know. Try it on." Olivia did the honor of pulling it on his head. "Hard to say, maybe a Viking or a wolf, or just a horny hat." She laughed then.
