Elliot just wanted to shake Amanda when she got home. But he hugged her and did his best to remain calm.
"You do know we have the cops out looking for you?" Elliot kept his hands on her shoulders as he took a good look at her. He didn't know what to think. Especially, when she was with some guy. Had she dropped him too?
"You called the cops!" She winced all mad as if he was the one who'd lost it.
"Well, I'm not the one who walked out on an infant." Elliot fumed. "Eric has Evan. I can't believe you did this!"
She wouldn't look at him then. It was as she preferred to keep her distance from him.
Elliot felt he couldn't move fast enough. Who was he suppose to call? Probably the cops, but he just wanted to get her somewhere for some sort of help. "We should get you checked out. See if you're OK." He acted as if she might have a fever or an infection that no one knew about.
"I'm fine." She gritted.
"No, you're not." Elliot hadn't slept in days. "You could have called, I would have-" He put his arm around her. "I didn't mean to ignore you. I didn't. Really, I want you to be OK. And if that means you needing to talk to someone about, about Evan or us or any of this, I'm all for that. I won't you to be OK. I really do."
"I don't want the baby." She told him so matter of fact.
"Because of me?" Elliot winced.
She shook her head, no as if he had nothing to do with it.
"I just can't do this, right now. I can't. What if I hurt him? I don't trust myself. I think-" She started to cry then. "I just wanted him to be safe, I did. I didn't want be something that shows up on the news."
"OK," Elliot just nodded. "Eric's fine with taking Evan. We just need to see if you can get some help."
Elliot wasn't counting on an easy fix, but they had to at least get her to the hospital.
