just a fool
"I WANT YOU TO STOP." Ravi finally had the courage to tell Olivia. He'd gone on three dates now. All her doing. People she knew, either through work or classes. It was making him sick. Little by little. This game they were playing. Supposedly, she was back with Roger. He guessed. He hoped it wasn't as perfect as it could be.
He'd done his best to stay by himself, but thoughts of her kept coming back. All the silly stuff they'd done together. Going on the roadtrip with Nick to get Heath. Wearing those silly horny hats. Yeah, it was just a joke, wasn't it? And now she was making him feel miserable.
"But I have like two other people lined up for you." She smiled so innocently as if he were her personal project.
"What?" He winced. "No, thank you." Ravi shook his head. There they were in the laundry room. He was drying clothes. She was washing clothes. In a confined place. Kind of. "Belinda would not shut up about her spring break in Florida and Karrie, just because she's.." He didn't want to say it. "From..well..evidently...where-ever, you think I'm from...doesn't mean we have anything in common." He winced.
"But Karrie's really sweet." Olivia shrugged.
"To you." He slammed the dryer shut then. He frowned then as if this was impossible. He'd better think about moving as soon as the semester was up. His luck, he'd have to go home for the summer and work at his parent's motel.
"I'm sorry." She frowned too. "I'm just trying-"
Ravi was almost in tears and that's when she kissed him.
