This was happening so much faster than Eric imagined. They'd barely made it to the the emergency room. A flood of water came out of nowhere, it seemed. Eric just blinked standing there in a puddle of water with Syd.

There was no time. No time. They barely got her ready for one of the rooms in the maternity ward. The baby was coming. Now. In about twenty minutes. The arrival took place. Eric wasn't sure if Syd had drugs are not. She just had the baby so quickly. It stunned Eric.

"A woman like that could have 8 kids or more if she felt like it." One of the nurses said after-wards. "Next time, you make sure to get your wife here sooner."

Eric was just in shock. Syd was right there as if she'd made the last score for the team. And she got to hold Ella first.

"You're sure you're not naming her after the cat." They'd been over so many names, but this was the one she always came back too because it was from the character of her favorite book, Ella Enchanted.

"She's Ella, Eric." Syd kept smiling. The baby had lots of dark hair and the bluest eyes. "She's our Ella." Of course, she just looked at both of them as if she wondered if they knew what to do. Of course, she wasn't quite ready for picture taking. Eric took her then to help clean her up. But the first person he thought of was Evan. Remembering, seeing him for the first time. He couldn't wait for Evan to see his sister.
