more surprises

Roger was in shock when he found out the big surprise from Eric's parents as the brunch wound down. They'd found a house for Eric and Syd. It was only a street or two over. A three bedroom place.

Roger sucked in a breath as he heard the news.

"This is just lovely," Olivia said, touching Roger's shoulder with her arm. "You know what this means, don't you?"

"Yeah." He winced. It meant he might get some money to help with the rent now, but it would mean having to look for a roommate.

"It means Kyle and Amber can move in." She smiled.

"You'd like that, huh?" He supposed that would be perfect since they needed a place. He'd noticed she and Amber had hit it off. But then, from the conversations he'd heard from Kyle lately, he thought Amber and Kyle might be breaking up. Which was it?

Roger looked over at Doyle, still standing with wedding cake.

"You think its a good idea?" Roger snatched a piece of Doyle's cake.

"I guess." Doyle shrugged. Not that he knew of Kyle and Amber, other than they had a kid.

"Well, what about Rosie?" Roger looked back at Olivia.

"Kyle just has her weekends now." Olivia told him.

Roger wondered how Doyle would feel about that. She wasn't a baby. Exactly.

"Its OK." Doyle shrugged again. "Its not like I hate kids. Its just, you know, you seem determined about a full house, you know."

"Its not my fault." Roger informed him. "Blame my Dad, its his house." What was Doyle wanting? A place of their own?
