Kip didn't have a job to go back too. Someone took it. It would have to be that way. And his cousin moved in her girlfriend so it wasn't exactly Three's Company. Definitely, the worst time of his life, and he thought it had been bad when Syd left. He felt as if little by little his life was completely unraveled. It was a mystery to think what was next. Get a divorce. He guessed. But everything was so overwhelming. All this loss. It was so hard to stay focused.
He doubted he'd ever hear from Liz, again. He wasn't sure he even wanted to hear from Liz. Maybe he wanted to make this difficult for her. Maybe he just didn't care.
"Well, there are lot of opportunities overseas." Carolyn, one of his old co-workers told him when they went for lunch one day. "Have you thought about traveling. Maybe the peace corp?"
"Actually, I'd like to get paid." Kip had to admit. But he liked the idea of traveling. He wouldn't have to come home to Trish and Gina. He always felt he was interrupting something. "But if you could help me, somehow, I just need to get away."
"Are you running from something?" She asked, as if maybe he needed to face the real issue.
"There's nothing to run from, really. I just want to get on with my life." And he knew that life would be without Liz. At this point, all he cared about was taking care of himself and no one else.
