how it should be
"I don't think I can let Amanda be alone with you." Asa winced hard. Did he say that right? He'd been thinking on it for so long now. There Asa was in the hospital room alone with Elliot. He was trying his best to keep it together, but deep down, he was furious with Elliot. What was he trying to prove?
"I don't think you honestly love her." Asa bit his upper lip and wondered if Elliot heard a word he said. He was asleep. He would be. Why wouldn't he? He had enough drugs pumped in him right now that he could sleep through anything. A lot like he had with the accident.
"What?" Elliot's voice was so dry. He wanted some water to drink. "I do love Amanda. I do."
"You're life is a mess right now." Asa just stared at his cousin. Elliot's car insurance was definitely going to go sky high. He'd be out of school for weeks. How would they get by?
"Its your fault." Elliot's words were grim.
"No. It isn't." Asa didn't believe him. "You were miserable before I ever got here. You can blame it all on Amanda for so long. But its you, who has to change. I don't know if driving off a bridge, did a damn thing for you, but give you a second chance. Just remember that." Asa told him what he thought he should do. Elliot should stay at his parents house. That's where Elliot was wanted.
