thank me later

"You did what?" Ellie just winced at Roger when he dropped the scratch paper in front of her.

"I am doing a good deed." He informed her with that silly smile of his. "You see what I have on, don't you?" He modeled his brown slouch hat.

"Uh, yeah, a hat you stole from me." Of course, that had been years ago but she still remembered.

"Well, that's not the point." He didn't want to talk about old news. This was new. This was going to make her smile. "People want this hat." He smirked. "And I told them if they wanted the real deal. It would cost them." He shrugged.

She looked at the number on the scratch paper.

"You didn't even pay for that hat." She glared at him. She was in his kitchen holding Zoe while Amber was making them chicken salad sandwiches.

"So, but what if I told you, you could make some money?" Roger smiled more.

"How much?" She was waiting.

"Fifty bucks a pop."

"What?" She scowled then. "Who's going to pay me 50 bucks for a hat?"

"Five people," He said so innocently.

"Five...people?" She looked a little shock.

"Yeah, mainly just black or brown hats. But somebody wants a red one. For Valentines day, you think you could make one by then?" Roger scrunched his nose then with a silly look.

"What? That's ..that's..I dunno." She looked kind of pissed. "I'm breast feeding a baby, you know, and two more at home. That's -"

"But fifty bucks a pop." Roger reminded her. He was helping her here. He hoped she remembered that.

  5. Wow, that would be hard to pass up. But I'm sure it would be hard getting all that done.
