how it should be

"Counseling?" Roger cringed. "Are you serious?" He wasn't sure he wanted to get into this with Ryan. "For what?" He thought things were going pretty well, under the circumstances. He guessed. They'd spent  most of the week, together. He felt comfortable with everything. In fact, it felt normal to him. It wasn't at all unnatural. Maybe he was the idiot, or the weird one. But he was OK with the way Ryan dressed and everything else. It was great. He was fine with this. Honestly.

"Hope would never go." Ryan told him as they were folding laundry in their room.

Roger just nodded. "And what would we do, exactly?" He winced slightly, trying not to be a party pooper about it.

"What do you think?" Ryan looked at him serious.

"Share our feelings?" Roger supposed, with a sigh. He put away his socks then. It was kind of hard to tell their underwear a part. He knew this wasn't a phase with Ryan. He understood that. Maybe one day Ryan would want an operation. Roger thought of that for a moment. Really, he wanted Ryan to just be who he was. It wasn't necessary to change like that. But if it was what Ryan wanted...then.

"All right." Roger nodded. "I'll go." Of course, he thought maybe that counselor might help with his own little problems too. He hoped, anyway.
