Roger was lost at these sort of encampments, as usual. Everyone seemed to be in character but Ryan. Which was odd, but kind of nice.
Leon and Tyra went off in the woods to work on their characters. He guessed. Of course, he could think of lots of places he'd rather be, than in a tent with Ryan who seemed to have a lot on her/his mind. He guessed it was OK to think of Ryan as she, yet he didn't. He was crazy for a guy name Ryan. And seriously, it was total guy happiness, and yet deep down, well there was a certain truth. But he didn't feel weird about it. He was in love with a girl who dressed like a guy.
"So maybe we should..just get out of here.." He suggested, but it felt like an after thought. Ryan saw Hope walk by their open tent. Ryan went after her.
"Now why are you doing that?" He called after Ryan. He gave a deep sigh and followed down the moist path.
What were they going to do? He busted through a sword play, accidentally. Two guys practically in their 40's looked at him as if he'd lost it. Maybe he had. What the hell was he doing here? He didn't have the passion for this. So he waded through a crowd. Finally, he saw them on the hill not that far away.... Ryan and Hope were in a shoving match on the outskirts of this madness by the river.
What was he suppose to do? Break it up? Save somebody? By the time he got there, Hope made it down the hill, hurrying into her car, but Ryan stayed put.
"What's going on?" Roger winced hard, hanging on to the damp soil in his sneakers.
"Nothing." Ryan hugged herself. "She's just being a bitch. Like always." Ryan gritted.
They watched Hope's car nose dive off in the river ever so gracefully. Roger looked at Ryan. Somebody was going to have to be the hero. He wished he could have dialed 911 first, but Ryan did. Roger went after Hope as quick as he could, wishing he knew what to do.
As the car gurgled under the muddy waters, Roger jumped in the water letting the car guide him. It was nasty and colder than he expected. But the car kept rolling forward. He first struggled to open the car door. It didn't budge.
Everything felt in slow motion, yet it was all happening so quickly. Hope needed to get out of the car. Now. He beat at the passenger window. With all his might he wanted to smash the window, but he wasn't strong enough. The force of nature was winning. But he kept beating at the window to show her she was not alone even if it might not be true.
What a frightening cliffhanger! I hope they're okay! :/
