shoulduh coulduh

Amanda was thinking what she should have been thinking about... music classes. Well, maybe. But she was trying to make her way to the other school. The rain caught her off guard. She hadn't expected it. Especially, ice. Already?

She almost turned in front of  a Mac truck that wasn't stopping for anything. She plunged on the breaks quick enough. All she could hear was her heart beat racing. She blinked in thought. What was she doing?

Suddenly a car honk from behind her. She had to go.

What if that had been my dad? She suddenly thought. No, he was still in Alaska. She made her way slowly, wishing she were home, catching up on episodes of the Jersey Shore. Although, she knew Asa hated for her to watch it. He didn't come out and say it, but she had a feeling he thought less of her, for watching it.

She imagined the things she should have been doing. Going to see Rosie in a school concert. Taking some extra pampers to Elliot's or even Eric's. She should be doing something. Not this.

There were just too many kids in a music class. She squinted hard just thinking of the wild things with so much energy. How did anyone expect them to learn anything with a vast amount of kids in one room. How could they expect harmony?

Harmony? What was that, anyway? Did she really have it at home? With Asa?

It was kind of strange. Really, she didn't feel much of anything, anymore. Just going through the motions.

Although, she was certain..she was doing nothing right. If she touched it, it was wrong. She knew how some of those teachers were. They freaked if you left a yogurt past the weekend in the fridge. No one seemed to know where she was suppose to put her things. Nowhere, evidently. But they were stickler for rules. Evidently, she didn't know the rules like they did.

Yes, all she knew plenty of, the fact that no one really liked her at school. The kids could care less what she taught them. Teachers looked at her as if they didn't care where she went as long as she didn't come near their desk.

And now, she had to wonder if that truck could have splat her like bug. Would she even feel anything? She really didn't think so.
