everything is grey

Derrick had to look twice when the bell rang. Lola was there in the hallway. She couldn't have been waiting for him. He did his best to get his stuff together. There was still a play to worry about, although, it really wasn't a priority at the moment. He had a lot on  his mind.

"Can we talk?" She asked. He kept walking thinking it must be someone else she meant. Not him. "Derrick!" Her voice rang through the hall. He turned to see Lola staring at him. "Can..can I please talk to you?"

"Why do you want to talk to me?" Was she selling something? He didn't have time for this.

"Why can't you talk to Ian?" She then said. "I think you two should talk."

"I have nothing to say to him." Derrick fumed slightly.

"I dunno, what it is, but, he..he feels something for you." She sighed. "I don't think he's let you go, just yet. You may have, but I think you hurt him worse, just because, you ignore him...and..maybe you need to talk to him, too."

Derrick didn't think he could. He really didn't want to face Ian now.

"What are we talking about? Closure or something? You think, you've lost him?" Derrick felt more angry, the more he stood there and watched her, oh so innocence.

"I never had him, to begin with." She clarified. "He's my friend, and I know he misses you."

Derrick shook his head, no. He didn't believe that. There was no intention to tell Ian about Josie. He hated for Ian to find out. Honestly, he didn't even care if Henry knew. He was glad it wasn't serious with Henry. There was time to make a clean break.

"He's got you. He has you. And..and I can't talk to him. I don't want too." Derrick walked away. He hated to be so cold, but it had to be this way. Now he needed to find the courage to be the same way to Henry.
