Looking at the top from the bottom

"I can't believe he'd do this!" Derrick felt like punching something. It was not fair. This was like a miserable game Josie's dad was playing. "How come this never happened, to my sister! To Kyle!" His face tensed as if he could only see this ending ugly.

"I'm not the bad guy here. Honestly, I'm not." Asa looked quite sad about the matter too. "I want what's best for both of you. And it'll be all right..if..if you'll just calm down."

Derrick gritted hard. His fist tight. If only he could smack her father hard, right now, he would. He shook his head. "Its just..ridiculous. You know. Does she even know?"

"I dunno." Asa nursed his bottom lip. "You have to look at it, as a good thing. You can go on, with..with your future."

"But I want to be a Dad!" Derrick glared at him. He couldn't be still. He needed to get out of here.

"Derrick! Listen to me." Asa grabbed his shoulders, and forced him to stay put. "Don't do anything, you... are going regret. Just..calm..down...I didn't say, you couldn't see the baby. I'm not taking anything away from, either of you." He looked him in the eye. "I feel responsible for this. I do. I should have been there for you, when..when everything happened with Amanda."

"It is your fault." Derrick agreed, glaring up at him. Possibly, not about the baby. "She'd be alive right now. If..if it wasn't for you, wanting to be some...so called Saint to that friend of yours!" Derrick grimaced in disgust.

Asa took a step back, and let go of him. He didn't respond.

Derrick went to his room. He felt his body trembling. His heart pounding. It felt as is everything had been taken from him.

  1. Derrick has a lot of hurt still in him .. He's still immature too. Yet, I feel really bad for him.
