and then

Willow's mother called to tell her that she was invited to fly to London with her to see Jonah. After all, didn't they both want to know what Jonah got himself into with this Gilly who had a kid?

"Does this mean Jules can come with us?" That was the real question Willow pondered.

"Go ahead, ask him." It was hard to know if her mother was happy with the idea, but it made Willow smile even more.

"Do you know what this means!" Willow said with glee when she got off the phone with her mother. "I can meet your mother, Jules!"

Of course, he gave her a bewildered look, not knowing what she was even going on about.

"My Mom will pay for the trip." She was ecstatic as she danced around their room while Jules was busy with an online class he was rapping up.

He winced as if there had to be a catch. "This is probably her idea to keep me there." He scoffed. Besides who would run the coffee shop on campus. Had she not forgotten how unreliable Topher was getting, as of late. He was never on time and not the normal fellow they knew.

"Don't say that." She looked hurt that Jules would think her mother would be up to no good. "We'll be fine. We'll get people to..to keep the place going. Besides, we won't be gone that long." She promised. "If it bothers you so much..then..then lets do something about keeping you in the states." She shrugged.

"Like a marriage certificate?" He smirked. "You know, you want a really big wedding. All the fireworks."

"Don't make me sound like that. We could at least get the license. I'm fine with something small." She gritted a smile as if it were a promise.

"I wish I could believe you." He looked up from his laptop.

"Just think of our trip to London as a honeymoon." She smiled brightly.

"With your mother?" Jules shook his head.

"Please!" She wanted this. She did. "We could go down to the courthouse now, and find out what we need to do."

Jules slapped his laptop shut. "All right." He smiled then. "But this wasn't exactly what I'd had in mind, you know."

"What did you have in mind?" She wanted to know.

"I dunno." He shrugged. "I think something about asking you if you wanted to get married for starters, but..." He held her hand with then with the promise ring she wore. "I guess that wasn't really necessary, now was it."

She looked at the ring. Well, she felt engaged. Wasn't this a team effort, after all?
