its everything about you
"We'll have a few more days, together, you know." Ian didn't want to see Josie upset. Actually, being around Josie made him stop thinking about everything going wrong in his life. For the first time, he wasn't waiting for everything to go bad to worse.
"I'm sure you'll think of something for us, to do." Ian didn't mean to tease, but he was sure she'd make a list. At least, she wasn't bothering about knowing the complete 311 of his secret. It was a mute subject. And he certainly, didn't want to get Kayla in trouble. He knew he was just as much, at fault. So he'd just let it go. Or at least try.
A part of him felt if anyone could understand what he might be going through, it would be Josie. In a dream, he did tell her everything. He hoped he'd keep his wits about him and not act as if she already knew the truth.
But this was good, to be here with her. Everything, seemed to make him smile when she was around. It could have been the most drab day out, with lurking thunderstorms, but it was easier with Josie. He felt silly, that he didn't know this was true until now. Ian thought of all those times he used to find her at the library. Always, near. Could it have happened then? She might have been the only girl he'd ever wanted to know. What if they might be together? Now. If..if only...
He didn't want to have any sad feelings about it now. This was what he needed. Being her friend.
"I just don't know if you like my thinking, exactly." Josie's smile was sly.
"I guess, you'll have to surprise me." He smiled back, wishing he'd paid more attention, way back when. But now it felt like a good pop song, that he couldn't stop thinking about. This had to be the beginning of something. Had to be.
