its a small world

Elliot finally mastered SKYPE. He'd done it once for his students to have a question and answer session with the local senator. It even scored him an article in the city newspaper and some write in at the school that he should be up for Teacher of the Year. That was a first too. But to do this for himself. Especially, with someone on the other side of the world. He was still in the state of shock.

Actually, it was Romy that reached out to him first on FACEBOOK. After all, his Dad was keeping the secret from Elliot's mother. He guessed. Elliot got no where with his Dad. It was as if he'd made one little slip up about Elliot having a sibling in Germany. Honestly, Elliot felt he had to find her, but then it was a dead end, until finally she sent him a note.

It was funny, she was a teacher too. She was a music teacher. Of course, Elliot was all smiles finding out how much they had in common. They e-mailed each other daily. It was best to keep off FACEBOOK. Little by little he was learning that Romy had a daughter. She was a single mother from a single mother.

It was pretty clear to him, that Romy was really not after his Dad's money. She wanted to get to know him.

"Well, if this works out, I'll see if I can get Dad on Skype to talk to you." Elliot felt he at least owed Romy that much.

"I would like that very much." She told him she wished it had worked with her own daughter's father. But he was out of the picture. "All I've ever wanted was to have my own family. If only, I could have given Petra that, but..oh well." Her smile was endearing. She was happy to hear about Elliot's family. Still he knew it was Romy's dream to meet her own father in person.

Elliot knew now he had to find a way to make that possible. Romy was family, and he wanted to be a part of her life, too.
