going with the moment
"I so hope you know what you, are doing." Josie was with Henry out at Walmart. It was one of their midnight runs. She couldn't sleep and he was in dire need of a phone.
"I do." He picked up one of those pay as you go phone. Even so, it was expensive.
"Sure you do." She looked at him wide-eyed. Even she didn't have an HTC phone that expensive. "So, you're just as blown away with this Shannon, as you were with Derrick?" She saw a pattern here.
"I am not." Henry winced hard as if she were not suppose to compare the two. "He's..he's so..I dunno. He's like no one.. I've ever met. I'm only helping him. We..we could be..just friends." He asked for help then from the clerk.
Josie rolled her eyes. She really wished she was in bed now. But it wouldn't be satisfying unless Ian were there. Yet, it was a nice dream to think on. Only he wouldn't. He just wouldn't. Before she knew it, she was texting him. She doubted if he were awake.
Of course, he texted back, worried. What on earth was she doing at Walmart at this hour?
RELAX. she texted back. She told him she was with Henry. All was good. No labor pains. Of course, she wasn't sure if she'd know one, anyway.
"Can we get Ian?" She asked Henry after he paid for the merchandise.
"I guess." He shrugged as if he weren't her keeper.
"Just tell me, you won't rush in to anything, you won't regret with this guy." Josie looked at Henry as if he better be careful.
"I won't." But in the next breath, he was wondering how they could get this phone to him, tonight, somehow.
"Are you kidding me?" Josie waddled after him with her hands on her hips. There went that lower back pain again, as if she'd moved the wrong way accidentally. It didn't hurt that bad. Just a little.
Henry said nothing. She knew he wasn't kidding.
